⭐️ Happy Juneteenth, ! Today we commemorate African American freedom and celebrate the abolishment of slavery as we are reminded of the significant contributions of African Americans to our society. Join us in recognizing the power and resilience of Black Americans and rededicating ourselves to rooting out systemic racism in our community.

🏛️At the June 9 City Council meeting, Program Assistant Anasia Juniel-Rufus accepted an official proclamation recognizing June 19 as Juneteenth in Menlo Park. The City also raises the Juneteenth flag throughout June as a symbol of freedom and the end of slavery, created in 1977 by activist Ben Haith.

Join us today from 5–8 p.m. at Belle Haven Community Campus (100 Terminal Ave.) to celebrate the holiday. Attendees will enjoy resources and vendors, activities for the family, food for purchase and free treats, plus cultural entertainment including storytelling and Caribbean music performance by Asheba, Myke tha Kidd and a Menlo Park Soul Line Dancer.

Attention northern and central ! Cal Water is upgrading the local water system in Menlo Park — installing 9,300 feet of new water pipe across two projects to improve water flow, supply reliability and fire protection for the community.

📍 Northern Menlo Park: work is being done Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. along Bay Road, from Peggy Lane to Greenwood Drive, just west of Flood Park. Construction is expected to be completed in July.

📍 Central Menlo Park: work is being done Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the following three phases with the exception of University Drive, which will require road closures from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and customers will be notified. Construction is expected to be completed by January 2027.
1️⃣ Phase one: Along University Drive and El Camino Real, from Harvard Avenue to Partridge Avenue.
2️⃣ Phase two: Along University Drive, from Partridge Avenue to Creek Drive.
3️⃣ Phase three: Along University Drive, from Middle Avenue to Patridge Avenue.

Crews will work to minimize any disruption to traffic. Temporary asphalt will be applied until permanent paving is completed, which can be up to 30 days after project completion.
