Thank you, Mendota! 💙

We are still smiling from the incredible turnout at National Night Out on September 4th! To everyone who came out to chat, enjoy the food, check out the emergency vehicles, and connect with our team, thank you.

National Night Out is one of our favorite traditions of the year because it highlights what truly makes Mendota work: strong relationships between our officers and the community we serve. Building a safer, tight-knit city isn't something we do alone, it’s a team effort every single day.

A special shoutout to: Our Local Leaders, Community Partners & Organizations who helped host activities and share resources. Our Volunteers & Sponsors kept the food, drinks, and fun flowing all evening. The Kids & Families made the night so bright and energetic.

Together, we are keeping Mendota safe, connected, and strong. We’re already looking forward to next year!

🚨 ARREST UPDATE: Vandalism Suspect Apprehended 🚨

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, at approximately 8:08 AM, Mendota Police Department officers responded to a report of widespread vandalism near J Street and Kate Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a suspect had sprayed green paint across numerous personal vehicles, residential walls, and private fences throughout the neighborhood.

Through a swift and thorough investigation, officers identified the suspect as Jesse Gutierrez (pictured below). Gutierrez was promptly located, taken into custody without incident, and booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of Felony Vandalism and a Probation Violation.

The Mendota Police Department takes property crimes seriously. We remain committed to protecting our neighborhoods, and we want to send a clear message to our community: If you choose to vandalize property and destroy what others have worked hard for, you will be caught and you will go to jail.

We appreciate the community's continued support and vigilance in keeping Mendota safe and clean.

Safety always comes first!

Officer G. Alcazar stopped to help a young rider double-check his helmet strap before hitting the pavement on his e-scooter.

Whether you’re cruising on an e-scooter or riding an e-bike, taking two seconds to gear up properly can make all the difference.

We love seeing our youth out enjoying the neighborhood but keeping them safe while doing it is always our top priority.

Got your helmet buckled today? Stay safe, watch for traffic, and enjoy the ride!

Community connection at its finest!

The Mendota Police Department was thrilled to join in on the Joaquin Murrieta Tradición y Cultura Annual Horse Ride Rest Stop on Saturday, July 25, at Lindgren-Lozano Park.

Beyond enjoying the rich history, vibrant culture, and fantastic turnout, a few of our officers even got the chance to saddle up and mount a horse!

¡La conexión comunitaria en su máxima expresión!
