Let's talk Vote by Mail! By now, most registered voters have received a Vote by Mail postcard application from the State. These are provided as a convenient way to request ballots be mailed to you for the State Primary (Sept. 1), the State Election (Nov. 3 ) or both.
If you have decided that you want to vote by mail, using the postcard is the easiest way to do so. Please refer to my excellent edited photo for these instructions.
1) First verify the information is accurate: Name as registered, voting address, and party. If you want your ballot mailed to another address, simply write that address in the space provided. This is not necessary if there are no changes.
2) Choose which elections you want a ballot for.
3) If you choose All elections, or the Sept. 1st only AND you are not a registered Democrat or Republican, then you must choose a Primary Ballot (see Primary Ballot section). If you do not choose a ballot, we will assume that you do not want a primary ballot. You will still receive your Nov. 3rd ballot (if you selected All).
4) Include your phone number (optional but helpful if we need to contact you).
5) Sign the application and date it. We cannot accept unsigned applications.
Once you're done, tear off the postcard and mail it, postage paid.
We have had a fair amount of applications that did not have a primary ballot choice and therefore those voters will not receive one. If you suspect that might be you, you can track your ballot here:

Early/Absentee ballots are starting to come in and we will mail out all those we have had requests for early next week. The deadline to request a ballot by mail for the Sept. 1 primary is Tuesday August 25 at 5:00pm. Anything requested after that date will be entered for November only.
