Well, the Menasha Parks and Recreation tried to have a nice City Carnival, but Mother Nature apparently did not check with their schedule first.

With the forecast calling for storms, the Menasha Parks and Recreation Department is playing it safe and rescheduling City Carnival to June 24.

We are disappointed too, but safety comes first. Nobody needs a community event with a side order of thunder, heavy rain, and flying canopies.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and look forward to seeing everyone on June 24.

There comes a point when many people start looking for a way to give back.

Maybe you're retired. Maybe you're nearing retirement. Maybe you simply want to stay active, meet good people, and continue serving your community in a meaningful way. You get to choose when you want to serve, and what hours you can work.

The Menasha Police Auxiliary Unit provides an opportunity to do exactly that.

Auxiliary members work alongside our officers supporting community events, traffic control, scene safety, and public outreach. No law enforcement experience is required. We provide the training and support you need to succeed.

This is more than volunteering. Auxiliary members receive compensation for their time while making a real difference in our community.

If you've been looking for a way to stay involved, serve others, and be part of something bigger than yourself, we'd love to talk with you.

Basic Requirements:
•U.S. Citizen, At least 18 years old, Valid driver's license with a good driving record, No felony or domestic abuse convictions, and Available evenings, weekends, and holidays

While most people were staying dry, one of our CSOs was busy with an important public safety mission: helping a family of geese cross the road. The geese offered no explanation for their travel plans and are unavailable for comment.

It’s a great day to be at Menasha Parks and Recreation Jefferson Park for Community fishing day with heckrodtwetlandreserve! It’s great to see so many enjoying the great weather!

Our officers are great at finding things, but even we can’t guarantee where the fish are hiding. That’s above our pay grade.

A big thank you to Dairy Queen (Treat) for supporting local K-9 programs during Police Week.

During Police Week, they turned their famous Archie's Famous Popcorn blue, with proceeds going to support local K-9 foundations, including the Menasha Police K-9 Program.

Behind every police K-9 are countless hours of training, care, equipment, vet visits, and a whole lot of dedication. Community support helps make that possible.

K-9 Koda even got to enjoy a little treat too, which we’re pretty sure she considered the most important part of the whole thing.

Thank you to and to everyone who purchased blue Archie Popcorn. Your support means a lot to our department and to the K-9 teams serving our communities.
