On Friday, July 26, 2019, Northeast Career Planning will join many across the state and nation to acknowledge and celebrate the 29th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The ADA and the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA) give civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities similar to those provided to individuals on the basis of race, color, s*x, national origin, age, and religion. The ADA and ADAAA also assure equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities for access to businesses, employment, transportation, state and local government programs and services, and telecommunications.

It was signed by President George H.W. Bush in 1990 with him stating, “it was the fair and right thing to do”. We recognize and salute the efforts of many champions in the field who have advocated for inclusion, equal rights, employment and the ability of all individuals to live full, productive and meaningful lives.

Thank you for your donation!

Yesterday, we recycled 15 bags of bottles and cans to earn $37.50, to be donated to our 2019 Change Matters recipient Northeast Career Planning. We thank our staff for sharing their recyclables and Brad & Gabby Pouchak for the unpleasant job of sorting and transporting. A special thank you to Maureen Wege for adding her recyclables to our group contribution. Together, we can make CHANGE matter.
