Recipe of the month:
Crockpot Homemade Refried Beans
1/2 pound bacon fried and cut up into pieces
1 pound dry pinto beans -rinsed
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion salt
2 tsp minced garlic
2 cups shredded cheese
In large crockpot cook beans with 8 cups of water for 8 hours on high. Beans should cook till mushy and thick. Add pepper, salt, garlic and bacon pieces. Mix well. Cook, uncovered until liquid is almost gone. Add cheese and mix until melted. Serve with tortillas, meat, rice, etc. These freeze well too.
