A storm system will spread snow across the area from northwest to southeast this afternoon and evening. Snow will occur tonight and taper off Wednesday. North winds will increase this afternoon and tonight with gusts to around 40 mph over much of eastern North Dakota and the Red River valley. These winds will be enough to bring considerable blowing and drifting snow. Near blizzard conditions are possible...especially if winds end up higher than forecast. Stay tuned for additional updates.

Devils Lake area 1 pm to 3 pm
Grand Forks, Thief River Falls area 4-6 pm
Fargo, Detroit Lakes, Bemidji, Roseau, Wahpeton 5 to 8 pm
