At Memphis School of Excellence, we believe every child deserves the chance to fall in love with learning, and that's exactly what Dolly Parton spent her life fighting for. Through her Imagination Library, she sent free books to children across Tennessee, including right here in Memphis, planting seeds of literacy long before students ever walk through our doors. Her belief that education can open any door, no matter where you start, is a belief we carry with us every day at MSE.

Good news, MSE Family! Power has been restored and our school buildings will be open for regular in-person instruction tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as our community worked through the outages. We look forward to seeing our students back on campus!

Due to widespread power outages affecting our Memphis community, our school buildings will be closed tomorrow. Learning will still continue, students will complete schoolwork at home with guidance from their teachers.

MSE proudly boasts a national ranking in the top 40% of public high schools, officially earning the title of a 2026–2027 U.S. News and World Report Best High School! 🥳

This amazing accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our students and the unwavering dedication, commitment, and high expectations of our entire staff. Every classroom interaction and every effort made to support our students plays a crucial role in achievements like this.
