MIFAM Memphis Interfaith Foster & Adoption Ministries Our members coordinate activities, share lessons learned, provide family support, and raise awareness of needs.

Memphis Interfaith Foster & Adoption Ministries (MIFAM) exists to encourage, equip, and connect people to make the gospel visible through foster care, kinship care, and adoption. Rooted in the local Church in the Memphis, TN area, MIFAM is an alliance of churches, agencies, ministries, and community advocates who serve foster, adoptive, and kinship children and families as well as support and enco

urage the social workers who provide child welfare services. MIFAM was started in 2021 and is currently made up of over 30 churches and partner organizations.

We had our last MIFAM meeting of the year today and took some time to share foster care and adoption related things we’re thankful for. Thanks to Church of Christ at White Station for hosting us and to Isaiah 117 House Shelby Co TN for feeding us a wonderful Thanksgiving meal! We also had the opportunity to take a field trip to see our local Isaiah 117 House that will be open soon. MIFAM, we’ll see you in 2025!

Today we celebrated MIFAM’s 3rd birthday! For three years we’ve been meeting together, learning from one another, collaborating on foster, kinship & adoption support and cheering on child welfare workers. We are committed to working together because we believe we can have greater positive impact in this city we love if we lock arms!

Yesterday was a great day, and we’re so grateful to each person who attended, participated in the exhibit booth area, led a training session, donated items, and volunteered to make it a great event! When we started planning All for the One, we knew we wanted to provide childcare. We wanted to make it easy for foster parents to attend and not put the burden on them to find respite care for the kiddos in their home. We’re grateful for our childcare coordinators, Kaitlyn & Bailey, for doing an outstanding job recruiting volunteers, figuring out how to group the kids, planning super fun activities and so much more!

Also, thanks to our childcare volunteers for going above and beyond to attend a training by Safe & Secure TN earlier this week so they have tools and resources they need to provide the best care!

All for the One is one week away! Thank you to & Vinculo Coffee for your breakfast donations! Doors and childcare will open at 8:30am so come early, grab some breakfast & browse the exhibit booth area. You’ll have the opportunity to talk with representatives from local agencies and foster/kinship/adoption support organizations. Breakfast will also be provided in the childcare area. We hope to see you then!
