Town of Arlington social media platforms are intended to inform the public about the latest news, activities, programs, projects, and events happening in the Town, and to serve as a limited means of communication between the Town and the public. Shares, Likes and Follows by any Town of Arlington account are not endorsements, and any third-party informa
tion posted on this site are the opinion of the commentator or poster only, and do not imply endorsement of, or agreement by, the Town, nor do such comments necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the Town. The Town’s social media sites are not monitored 24/7. If there is an emergency, contact 911. Service requests and resident concerns must be directed to Town Hall at: www.townofarlington.org or 901-867-2620. The Town of Arlington reserves the right to remove any user-generated content that includes:
a. Profane language or content;
b. Sexual, obscene or indecent content or links to the same;
c. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression;
d. Information harmful to children or is of nature to frighten children, either emotionally or physically;
e. Content that advertises, solicits, or promotes commercial services or products;
f. Content that engages in or encourages illegal activity;
g. Content that threatens or defames any person or organization;
h. Comments in support of or opposition to political campaigns or ballot measures;
i. Information that may compromise the safety or security of the public, public systems, or employees; or
j. Content that violates a legal ownership interest or copyrighted work of another party;
k. Fraud, spam or content posted by automatic software programs (e.g., “bots”);
l. Links to external downloads/websites that are not Town of Arlington partners;
m. Cruelty to animals;
n. Solicitations for donations, except for official town-sponsored activities. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Town is not obligated to take such actions, and the Town disclaims any and all responsibility and liability for materials that the Town deems inappropriate for posting which cannot be removed in an expeditious and otherwise timely manner. Furthermore, the Town reserves the right to block and/or report users who do not comply with the above guidelines. Any content posted to this site is subject to public disclosure, per Tennessee’s Public Records Act (T.C.A. § 10-7-101, et seq.) and Open Meetings Act (T.C.A. § 8-44-101, et seq.).
