🔑 Missing Something, Arlington?

A couple of sets of keys have recently been turned in to Town Hall, and we’d love to get them back to their owners!

📍 Found near the Tennis Center: a vehicle key fob
📍 Found near Kroger/Taco Bell: a set of keys

Think one of these might be yours? Give Town Hall a call or stop by during regular business hours. Please be prepared to describe the keys so we can make sure they find their way home! 🔑

🎶 Music On The Square is this Saturday! Join us at The Crossing Amphitheater in Depot Square for KEVIN & BETHANY PAIGE!

💧 It's still hot, so bring plenty of water, dress for the heat, and maybe pack a fan.

Concerts are FREE to attend (weather permitting) and food vendors will be available on-site.

A big thank you to the Arlington Chamber, for coordinating, and to this month’s sponsors, Bank of Arlington & Shepherd's Haven, for helping make it possible!

We’ll see you at The Crossing, Arlington!

WHO DECIDES WHAT BUSINESSES COME TO ARLINGTON?

We’ve heard the jokes ... “Another bank?” “Another Mexican restaurant?” “Why can’t we get a _____?” 😄

Here’s the thing: The Town doesn’t choose which businesses open in Arlington.

Businesses and property owners decide where they want to invest. The Town’s role is to establish zoning and development standards and make sure all new projects meet those requirements.

And apparently, banks and Mexican restaurants have gotten the message that Arlington likes tacos and has money to deposit. 🌮💰

All joking aside, businesses go where they believe there’s a market for what they offer. We can encourage quality development and make Arlington a great place to invest, but businesses ultimately decide if Arlington is right for them.

So keep telling us what you’d like to see here — and tell those businesses, too! Showing them there’s local demand can help put Arlington on their radar.

Two reasons to get out and about tomorrow morning!

There’s plenty happening in Arlington this Saturday, September 12:

🏃 Arlington 5K - The race kicks off at 8 AM at Arlington Elementary, so expect to see runners making their way through the downtown area that morning.

🛍️ Arlington Crossing Market - Stop by the Forrest Street Market Pavilion from 8 AM–Noon to shop local vendors and enjoy a Saturday morning at The Crossing.

Whether you’re running, shopping, cheering - or doing a little of all three - we hope to see you out around Arlington tomorrow morning!

Three familiar faces. Three new terms.

Before Tuesday night’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, Oscar Brooks, Harry McKee, and Jeremy Biggs were officially sworn in following their re-election in August.

Tennessee Senator Paul Rose joined us at Town Hall to administer the oath of office.

Congratulations to Aldermen Brooks, McKee, and Biggs as they begin another term serving the Town of Arlington!

🗑️ Nope. Your trash isn’t getting picked up today.

Before you call, message, comment, or start wondering if the garbage truck forgot you — Labor Day is also a trash service holiday.

That means NO trash pickup on Monday and the entire week shifts forward one day:

➡️ Monday routes → Tuesday
➡️ Tuesday routes → Wednesday
➡️ Wednesday routes → Thursday
➡️ Thursday routes → Friday
➡️ Friday routes → Saturday

So if your cart is sitting patiently at the curb today...it may be more optimistic than it needs to be.

Please help us spread the word to that neighbor who might have missed the first post. 😉
