**LONG-TERM TRAFFIC ALERT FOR SHELBY COUNTY** We have to replace the Collierville-Arlington Road Bridge (Old State Route 205) over the Wolf River, and the best way to do that is with a full closure. The closure starts September 8th at 9 a.m. We’re expecting to reopen the bridge to traffic Fall 2027, with a full completion in Spring 2028. The Riverwalk Trail boat ramp will also be closed as part of construction activities.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Morris family as we remember Officer Edgar Morris on the fifth anniversary of his passing. Officer Morris tragically lost his life due to complications from COVID-19.

He began his career with the Collierville Police Department on September 1, 2005, and faithfully served our community with honor and dedication. Beyond the badge, Edgar was a devoted husband, father, and son whose character touched everyone who knew him.

Today and always, our thoughts remain with his family as we honor his service, sacrifice, and the lasting impact he made on our department and community.

One of our officers recently stopped to help a mother who had run out of gas while traveling with her baby. It was a simple act of kindness, but it made a difficult situation a little easier.

These are the moments that often go unnoticed, the everyday acts of kindness our officers perform simply because someone needs help. They may not always make the headlines, but they are an important part of what it means to serve our community.

The Collierville Police Department congratulates Sheriff Floyd Bonner Jr. on his retirement following 46 years of dedicated service, including eight years as Sheriff of Shelby County.

We appreciate the strong relationship between the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and CPD over the years. Sheriff Bonner has always been a great supporter of our department, and we are grateful for his leadership, friendship, and commitment to serving Shelby County.

It is fitting to hear him go “Signal C” one final time.

On , we want to thank the Collierville community for its continued support.

Signs like this can be seen in yards throughout Town, and we never take them for granted. Your support means a lot to our officers, detectives, dispatchers, jailers, administrative staff, crossing guards, and volunteers.

We also appreciate the Collierville Citizens Police Association and everything its members do to support CPD.

If your power is out, please report the outage to MLGW at (901) 544-6500.

🚦 If you come to a traffic signal that is completely out, treat the intersection as a four-way stop. Please slow down, use caution, and make sure it is safe before proceeding.

If you see a downed power line or another emergency involving electrical lines, please stay away from the area and call CPD Dispatch at (901) 853-3207. For an immediate emergency, call 911.
