"AMLE Announces Middle School Student Sound Off Contest Finalists
What’s it really like being a middle schooler in 2026? Hundreds of students from around the world shared their thoughts on this question, responding to AMLE’s Middle School Sound Off contest, held to mark March as Middle Level Education Month.

While “sounding off,” students could consider a variety of prompts for inspiration but were encouraged to tap into their creativity and choose a format that most appealed to them. The submissions were profound, offering keen insights into the modern middle grades experience.

The winning submission came from 7th graders Nasir Scott and Adrian Morales at Strong Middle School in Melvindale, Michigan. Their game, “My Life in School” explored several middle school themes by walking users through typical daily interactions in the school building."

It's that time of year again for one of our District's greatest events. I am writing to cordially invite you to MelNAP’s seventh annual Interfaith Iftar Dinner. We are proud to host this event and allow our community to come together and share in their differences. This year's Iftar will be held at Allendale Elementary School on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to address a serious safety concern during student drop-off and pick-up times. Recently, there have been multiple near-miss incidents where students have almost been struck by vehicles, as well as traffic accidents in the area.

For the safety of all students, please do not pull into the school parking lot to drop off or pick up students. Drop off and pick up must take place on Prospect St and an abundance of caution needs to be taken with speed and pulling around other cars for the safety of all of our students. Pulling into the parking lot, speeding, and weaving around other cars creates dangerous conditions for children, families, and staff.

We ask for your cooperation in following our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures so we can keep everyone safe. Student safety is our highest priority, and your support is essential!
