The Long Island Association recently hosted the orientation for the LIA-AI Growth Academy to train small businesses in AI tools that can help them grow with support from Google.org.

Businesses will receive free training conducted by Stony Brook University and the New York SBDC, and a grant to implement AI tools.

The LIA is proud to be able to help small businesses stay ahead of the curve on this fast-moving technology to support their marketing, operations, and finances so they can expand.

Congratulations to all of the participating businesses from communities across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and we look forward to working with you as you start this journey!

Yesterday, Stacey Sikes joined News 12 Long Island to discuss the recent LIRR strike and its impact on Long Island’s small business community as service resumes.

She highlighted how the service disruption created immediate challenges for local businesses that rely heavily on commuter traffic, noting that many experienced a sharp decline in customers during the shutdown. She emphasized the importance of reliable transit for sustaining Long Island’s economic activity and supporting the thousands of small businesses that form the backbone of the region.
