School started for most of the district today.

A change in MN law now requires all vehicles to stop at least 20 feet away from a school bus with 'flashing red lights', in each direction.

The previous law required the stop arm to be out as well.

Please follow this new law, so everyone can be safe!

Stearns County Records will be here Friday, Sept. 4, 9 am - 3 pm accepting applications for Permit to Carry and Permit to Purchase Fi****ms from Stearns County residents.

If you live in Melrose we can process Permit to Purchase applications anytime.

We will be training in the Melrose Area Public Schools tonight, 8/17, with the Freeport Fire & Rescue Dept. and the Melrose Police Department.

You may see emergency vehicles by the school.

⚠️ No Parking Reminder ⚠️

Street sweeping will be taking place today, Thursday August 6th to remove the loose gravel from the streets that were seal coated.

For your safety, please remove all vehicles from city streets to allow crews to complete their work safely and efficiently.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience. This completes the seal coating for the summer.

We can't wait to see everyone at the Melrose Community Farmers Market, this Wednesday!!!!

Melrose will celebrate Night to Unite on Wednesday, August 5th as part of the Farmer's Market! Melrose Community Farmers Market meets every Wednesday in the Sauk River Park; 206 5th Ave NE, Melrose from 3-7pm. On our Night to Unite, there will be a Community Dance Party, with Free Ice Cream! Visitors can meet our local first responders and enjoy dinner while supporting the Melrose Area Arts Council at the Mac 'N Cheese, Brats, Hot Dogs & Chips fundraiser. Celebrate our Community, Celebrate our Neighbors. We're Better Together.

We have been seeing people using their golf carts in areas considered, prohibited, under the ordinance. We learned the map, which was on the city website, was no longer with the application, as it had been in the passed.

Red/Pink color can be crossed, but not driven on. Yellow short sections can be driven on, but must exit from them when the driver gets to the next permissible road.
