The Spring 2026 legislative session is officially adjourned. Despite mounting federal uncertainty and the rising costs impacting Illinois families, we delivered a responsible state budget. Our work this session was dedicated to ensuring this budget uplifts, not burdens, everyday people.

It was a great honor to join the Illinois General Assembly in celebrating the career and public service of Senator Dick Durbin.

I extend my deepest gratitude for his nearly 44 years of service and dedication to Illinois. As the proud son of an immigrant, Senator Durbin made immigration reform the defining fight of his career. He tirelessly led the charge for the DREAM Act, which paved the way for the creation of DACA, a monumental program that has provided hope and opportunity for hundreds of thousands of young immigrants across our state and nation.

Thank you, Senator Durbin, for your lifetime commitment to justice, democracy, and public service.

Yesterday, my office hosted a Community Job Fair in Melrose Park alongside Congressman Jesús G. “Chuy” García and IDES! We are thrilled that over 25 employers and resource partners were on hand to serve more than 100 community members with vital career, college, and workforce development opportunities. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success! 💼

Ayer, mi oficina organizó una feria de empleo comunitaria en Melrose Park, junto con el congresista Jesús G. “Chuy” García y el IDES.
