🚨 Heat Advisory

The City of Melissa has been placed under a Heat Advisory. Heat Index values may reach up to 107 degrees today.

Take steps now to keep yourself safe. If you’re attending the Melissa Tribute Fest this afternoon, please come prepared!

- Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
- If you’re spending time outdoors, bring items to keep yourself cool and protected from the sun.
- Wear loose, light colored clothing.
- Be aware of symptoms of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of North and Central Texas through 8 PM this evening due to peak heat indices up to 107 degrees. Air temperatures will peak between 97 to 103 this afternoon. Make sure to stay cool and hydrated!

ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: CONCHO ROAD CLOSURE

Concho Road is scheduled to be closed beginning Tuesday, Sept. 15, for approximately three days.

Additional temporary closures are anticipated on or around Sept. 21 and Sept. 28/29, depending on construction progress.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: TELEPHONE ROAD

Telephone Road will be temporarily closed from Melissa Road north to the Alexan and Avilla Stoneridge driveways on Monday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The closure is necessary for roadway milling work as part of the Telephone Road Phase 1 project.

Please plan ahead, use alternate routes, and expect delays in the area.

Traffic Alert: Telephone Road Construction Resumes Sept. 11

Construction activities on Telephone Road north of Melissa Road will resume Friday, Sept. 11. Drivers should expect a one-way northbound traffic pattern while crews continue work on the Telephone Road Phase 1 project.

Please slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time.

Drivers should expect flaggers and temporary lane closures on SH 5 between Pennsylvania Avenue and the Outer Loop as Harper Brothers continues roadway improvements.
