Situation: Patty Rock, LPN and Program Manager of the Eastern Florida State College Medical Assisting Program, will be retiring this summer.

Background: Since 2000, Mrs. Rock has shaped the lives and careers of hundreds of medical assistants in Brevard County. Through high‑quality education and her example of professionalism, integrity, and compassion, she has set a standard that continues to influence the healthcare community.

Assessment: Mrs. Rock is highly deserving of a special celebration recognizing her decades of dedication and her impact on medical assistants across the county.

Recommendation: All former and current students, faculty members, clinic practice managers, and anyone who would like to wish her well in her retirement are invited to attend an OPEN HOUSE in her honor, hosted by some of her former students.

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Allergy and Immunology clinic. This role involves direct patient care, assisting with diagnostic testing, administering treatments such as allergy injections and performing allergy skin testing.

The CMA plays a critical role in our practice, known for its strong teamwork, supportive culture, and excellent patient care. We are a close-knit, dependable group that takes pride in working efficiently together and supporting one another throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
Perform allergy testing (e.g., skin prick testing, intradermal testing, spirometry, peak flow testing)
Prepare and administer allergy immunotherapy injections
Monitor patients for adverse reactions following injections or testing
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR

Administrative Duties

Manage phone calls, patient messages, and prescription refill requests
Assist with prior authorizations and insurance documentation related to allergy treatments
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage of medications/extracts

Qualifications:

Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
