🇺🇸 MEEKER, WE HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU. 🇺🇸

We all know someone who goes a little overboard for the 4th of July.

The neighbor with enough flags to start a parade.
The business owner already planning their window display.
The family that treats decorating like an Olympic sport.

So here's the question:

Can Meeker become one of the most patriotic small towns in Oklahoma?

We're about to find out.

The Stars, Stripes & Small Town Pride Contest is officially underway, and we're challenging residents and businesses across town to show us what you've got.

🏡 Decorate your home.
🏪 Decorate your business.
⭐ Invite your friends and neighbors.
🏆 Compete for prizes and bragging rights.

Voting opens June 26 during rodeo week, and winners will be announced during the July 3rd Celebration.

There’s a LOT happening in Meeker right now.

Just this week alone:

• Pumpkin Festival planning is underway 🎃
• Summer swim program registration is open, stop by Vision Bank to register 🏊
• The Meeker Rodeo is coming up June 27th/28th 🤠
• A low-cost pet vaccine clinic is scheduled May 30th 🐶🐱
• The Chamber golf tournament wrapped up with 13 teams! ⛳
• Work continues on the new Meeker signs, the chamber will pick up paint this week
• Volunteers are still needed for several upcoming events

This town runs on people who show up.

If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved, meet people, support local businesses, or just feel more connected to the community… this is your sign.

Today is not just the end of a long weekend.
It is a pause in the middle of ordinary life to remember the people who never made it home from serving this country.

Memorial Day is not abstract.
These names belonged to sons, daughters, parents, classmates, neighbors, and friends.

Today, as cookouts start and flags wave across town, we encourage our community to take a few moments to do something simple but meaningful:

* Visit a local cemetery.
* Place a flag or flower on a veteran’s grave.
* Bring your children and teach them why Memorial Day exists.
* Say their names when you know them.
* Remember that freedom was not inherited accidentally.

Some gave years of service.
Some gave everything.

And while America often feels loud and divided, Memorial Day remains one of the few days that reminds us we are still standing on sacrifices most of us will never fully understand.

From the Meeker Chamber of Commerce, we hope you have a safe Memorial Day — and we hope, somewhere in the middle of the day, you take a quiet moment to remember the fallen.
