In regard to the ongoing Burglary Investigation, Bobby Whitson was arrested in connection with the Investigation.

So far the investigation has led to the recovery of 484 items. These items were stolen from a residence within the Town. This has taken an enormous amount of man power and tedious time to investigate, conduct surveillance, write warrants, serve warrants, photograph and log all evidence, and most importantly the report that we hope will get justice for the victim.

HUGE shoutout to Lincoln County Sheriff's Office - Oklahoma for their assistance in the service of the search warrant this morning!

Whitson was arrested for the following charges:

- 3 Counts of Possession of an Altered/Imitation Firearm after Former Felony Conviction

- 8 Counts of Possession of a Firearm After Former Felony Conviction

- 8 Counts of Possession of a Firearm While in Commission of a Felony

- 484 Counts of Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property

There are more charges pending further investigation.

This is an arrest, not a conviction. ALL parties are presumed innocent until PROVEN guilty.

The Meeker Police Department served a search warrant this morning in connection with a Burglary investigation led by Asst. Chief Scott Wilson. There is no active threat to the public at this time. Officers on scene made one arrest in connection with the Burglary and expect more to come. The investigation is still ongoing and no further details can be released at this time.

Last night, the Meeker community showed up.

To everyone who attended the council meeting and showed support for the Meeker Police Department, thank you. Seeing so many people take time out of their evening to be present, wait through the delays and difficulties, and stand together for something they care about was truly impactful.

It means a lot to see citizens who care about what happens in their community. Local government works best when the people are involved, informed, and willing to show up. Last night showed that Meeker has people who care deeply about this town, its future, and the men and women who serve it.

We encourage more members of the community to attend future council meetings, ask questions, listen, and be part of the process. Your voice matters. Your presence matters. If we want to make our town better, support the good, and address the things that need improvement, we have to stay involved.

Last night, you showed unity as a community. Let’s continue that moving forward.

The Meeker Police Department respectfully asks anyone attending the upcoming Town meeting to remain civil, professional, and respectful throughout the process.

We recognize that this is an important matter to members of the community, Town leadership, and department personnel. Regardless of individual opinions or concerns, we ask that everyone allow the meeting to proceed in an orderly manner and avoid disruptions, personal attacks, or conduct that takes away from the seriousness of the process.

Professionalism and respect are important, especially during difficult situations. We appreciate the community’s continued support and ask that everyone represent Meeker in a positive and respectful way.
