It has been an excellent week here at Bethel Township Fire Department. For this week, we have received the Ohio Fire Academy’s mobile Search & Rescue training lab. This training unit allows our firefighters to get multiple scenarios and forces us to to adapt to all situations that may be presented to us. Crews went through multiple evolutions of searching for unknown victims, confined space competency, search awareness and orientation of your surroundings in a dark or smoked environment, and RIT scenarios of downed firefighters. We want to send our greatest thanks to the following departments for coming and taking the time to train with us so we can better serve our communities with our awesome mutual aid partners. Crews are on scene of a 2 vehicle accident on I-70 WB just west of the 42MM. Please be cautious going through this area as there is only 1 lane open!

REMINDER!! BURN BAN IN EFFECT! Common sense should tell you not to be burning with the winds we are having today, let alone the State-wide burn ban. There have been several illegal burns today already that have spread.

The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering up to a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in a fire that is considered to be ARSON in Crystal Lakes (Beach Dr). This fund is not paid for by tax payer dollars.
Any tips can be sent online at the link below or you can call Fire Marshal Hawkins at 937-604-5205. A firefighter was injured, so this is being considered as Aggravated Arson.
