Last night, we proudly recognized a dedicated group of firefighters who successfully completed their first year of orientation and training. Over the past year, FF/Medic Luke Hollis, FF/Medic Jovan Russell, FF/EMT Ruby Masl, FF/EMT Allison Provance, FF/EMT Nate Stankovich, and FF/EMT Hunter Randolph have demonstrated commitment, resilience, professionalism, and a strong dedication to serving our community.
Also included in last night’s Oath of Office ceremony were two seasoned firefighters, Rob Haas and Jestin Grossenbaugh, who have committed to serving Lafayette Fire Department, together they bring a combined 50 years of fire and EMS service. Their experience, leadership, and continued dedication are an inspiration to us all.
The hard work and commitment shown by each of these individuals have prepared them to answer the call when it matters most, and we are excited to see the impact they will continue to make throughout their careers.
We also want to give special recognition to Firefighter/Paramedics Lt. Tara Powell, Jovan Russell, and Austin Neel for their outstanding actions in saving the life of Heather Shumar during a cardiac arrest emergency. Their quick response, advanced medical skills, teamwork, and calm under pressure made all the difference during a critical moment. Because of their efforts, a life was saved, and a family was given more time with their loved one.
Please join us in congratulating our newest firefighters on reaching this important milestone and thanking Lt. Tara Powell, Jovan Russell, and Austin Neel for their exceptional service and dedication to protecting our community every day.
