Walter died in the 80's, and Ilona in 2007. The home was left to a close friend, who put it on the market in 2009. Two years later, the perfect buyer came along - someone who didn't want to make major changes and updates, but who wanted to restore the property to it's original beauty.
The current owners have put endless work into bring back the original character of York Castle, while making only a few major changes to enhance it. While it has been a long project, the end is in sight.
Although it has not yet been decided what exactly will be the main use for the property once restorations are complete, York Castle will be available for rentals in some form - parties, weddings, retreats... the possibilities are endless!
