Celebrate the Fourth of July in Medina!
For our nation’s 250th birthday, join us for a special Spirit of '76 celebration, sponsored by Friends of the Cemetery , from 10 AM to 3 PM at Old Town Graveyard. Meet early American figures such as George and Martha Washington, Betsy Ross, Paul Revere, Molly Pitcher, and Jim Smith, along with local historical residents Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Ferris and Austin Badger. Enjoy early American craft demonstrations, live music from Maidens Kiss, dulcimer and fiddle performances, kids’ activities, and more!
At 4 PM, don’t miss the annual 4th of July Parade! The parade will showcase revolutionary war reenactors, floats, historic vehicles, and more! The parade will kick off from the high school parking lot, travel south on Spring Grove, then west on Liberty, and loop around the square. It will conclude just past the Medina Library driveway on E. Washington Street. Interested in participating? Visit https://medinaoh.org/medina-alert/celebrate-america-250-by-participating-in-the-4th-of-july-parade/ to fill out a parade registration form. Please note that there is a one-vehicle limit per entity, and preregistration is required.
Whether you are marching in the parade or simply looking for a great viewing spot, we encourage you to embrace the spirit by wearing your best patriotic attire and proudly displaying the American flag as we honor America’s 250th!
After the parade, enjoy dinner at one of our fantastic local restaurants or have a cookout with friends and family, then bring your lawn chair to Uptown Park at 8 PM to enjoy a special concert of patriotic music by the award-winning Medina Community Band, now in their 167th year!
