On June 1st Prince of Peace Lutheran Church members delivered a bunch of our needed supplies: baby foods, cereals and snacks, 30 pieces of clothing summer toddler clothing, 16 washcloths, sizes 5 & 6 diapers, size 4T-5T boys and girls pullups, and 24 packs of wipes.

Each month, the church members have a charitable goal and Birthcare is so happy to continue to be included in this endeavor! Our client families rely on Birthcare to provide for basic needs. We can help because of the Medina County community's helping hands.

Birthcare is honored to be a tenant of 620 Corp.!

We would like to thank our landlord for new LED lights last year, a new emergency light in our main office, clean-up response to a roof leak in our bathroom, and finally for the go-ahead for a new sign outside our unit! Special thanks to Stacey Gowe for her attention to all of our needs. Our new sign is beautiful and well-crafted by Dave Sterrett of Medina Signs.

Medina Christian Academy middle school and high school students (Gr. 6-11) focused an outreach project in May on Birthcare’s diverse needs.

Jake Lucien, director of spiritual formation at MCA, reached out in April to executive director Barb McCoy asking for suggestions. The school’s service outreach day titled β€œI Love My City” was Friday, May 8. Barb visited the school that morning and talked about our mission, our client base and our needs during a school assembly. Then, students worked in small groups to organize the items they collected. Many packaged 72 β€œMom Survival Kits” with hygiene items, small self-care items and an encouragement card. Boxing up the supplies took place and then students moved on to lunch, where they also prayed for Birthcare’s families. The supplies were loaded into vehicles and a teacher and students traveled to Birthcare to unload their donations.

The donations included baby foods, formula, wipes, diapers, pullups, lotions, baby wash, socks, underwear, and a huge amount of gently used clothing.

What a blessing πŸ’™πŸ€πŸ©·

Feeding Medina County dropped off their excess supply of baby foods last week!

Birthcare volunteers Carol Walling and Jan Wilson accepted the four overflowing bags and large box of a variety of fruits, vegetables, dinners and cereal in pouches, jars, and plastic containers. We were pleased to add these to our shelves - which were beginning to need a fresh supply. There were 87 pouches, 92 2-packs, 3 dry cereals, a snack pack of cheese crackers, and a few containers of formula.

Thank you, Feeding Medina County for your generous gift!

🌷 SPRING has sprung at BIRTHCARE! 🌷

Five energetic St. Francis Xavier School students provided assistance early this morning (before classes started) to facilitate Birthcare's seasonal clothing bin changeover.

Maeve Becker, Colin Becker, Sam Bugner, Olivia Knudsen and Nick Meyer plus St. Francis Xavier preschool director Kelly Carlin carried all the Fall/Winter bins and winter outdoor attire to our storage room and replenished the main office with the Spring/Summer bins plus swimwear and hats. Asst. Director Diane Bugner and board president and volunteer Sister Sandy Bevec were on hand to offer direction.

The SFX crew also took the time to help us arrange everything in size and gender order on the shelves! We are blessed to have the support of St. Francis Xavier School, its staff and students. It is a long-standing relationship that benefits both of us!

Our annual Mother's Day Appeal mailing went out this week to donors, supporters and volunteers. It is our 18th appeal and has raised $169,099 from 1,019 donors since 2009.
Birthcare of Medina County was founded in September, 1976 by two nurses who saw a need to help economically challenged parents with supplies and resources for their young children. Our vision is a Medina County where all infants and toddlers are safe, fed and clothed for the best possible start in life.
