Medina, Minn. – The Medina Police Department responded to a car vs. pedestrian accident at County Road 24 and Willow Drive on June 18, 2026 at 10:33am. A male party was transported by AirCare in critical condition to an area hospital. Investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Minnesota State Patrol.

As of 12:45 pm, all roads are now clear and open.

Alert: Road Closures: County Road 24 at Parkview and Willow Rd at Hamel Road are closed due to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. Investigation underway. Please use alternative routes.

The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District (MMCD) is using drones to treat mosquito-breeding wetlands this year. Residents may see staff operating drones in the area as part of these mosquito control efforts. Drones help MMCD safely and efficiently access areas that can be difficult to reach on foot. More information about the program is included in the post below.

End-of-School-Year Reminder for Drivers: Minnesota law on stopping for school buses has changed. You must now stop at least 20 feet from the bus whenever the red lights are flashing. The stop arm does not have to be extended. This update closes a loophole where drivers previously may have tried to “beat the arm” when passing a bus — a risky move that puts children in danger.

Slowing down and adding that extra caution will help make sure every child can travel to and from school safely.
