Hi Folks,
Gosh - there is so much going on.
I have a lot of catching up to do.
I started a new position as Interim Pastor of Community Church in Chesterland on July 1, 2020. I am excited to be in ministry with this wonderfully diverse and energized group.
First time I visited the Church was for my Interview. I went early as I usually do to meet the Spirits of the place before becoming involved with the people of the place. The grounds are especially beautiful in their natural presence. Tall trees and wooded area enveloping an outdoor pavilion that overlooks a running brook in a ravine through the property.
I felt so warmly welcomed by the Spirits of the place that my Heart knew I belonged there. I had interviewed at three churches. This was the one I knew I was called to and I was!
I am learning that to be a Pastor - especially a new pastor to the congregation - is a much different ball game in the world of Covid. Simply getting to meet and know the people that I am to be with is an entirely new challenging opportunity. We are finding ways that I will meet with non-techie folks in socially distancing, mask wearing situations to meeting the tech-savvy through Zoom.
As much as I love the possibilities that Zoom provides, I must say that there may be a different kind of virus on the horizon: "Zoomitis." Its characteristic symptoms being: rounded spine, weakened legs, weary eyes and most grievous: sore butt! Sorry, no photo available. Go on, give me a giggle!
