Proud to say the Chalk Mountain fire is now at 91% contained at 140 acres. Medicine Bow Volunteer Fire Department was on site for the last 3 days with our tender providing water. All our volunteers that went came home safely. BLM released them at night and requested resources the next morning. We thank you for all your prayers and support.

Yes smoke is in the air. We have had 2 wildland fires north. One on Bald Mountain and a larger one on Chalk Mountain. Our crew from Chalk Mountain sent me these photos. 100 acres and no containment yet. Multiple crews on scene. Pray for all returned safely.

Wow what a show.
Here is our list of THANK YOUS:
To our volunteers of the Fire Department for protecting this community and County.
The American Legion Post 64. The Burger Burn was a hit. We appreciate your service to our great nation.
Hanna Fire Fighters for having our backs while the department was lighting up the sky.
The public that set off personal fireworks cleaning up your mess last night and using the water troughs.
To the neighbors of the park up bright and early to help clean up leftover debris.
But over all we thank the community of Medicine Bow. We truly want to thank you for your constant support of this department. Without you these volunteers could not do what they do.

We wish to thank our community members for the support. Our Father's Day breakfast was a great day. Don't forget next weekend on Saturday we are leading the parade for the Alumni weekend. Then on Sunday our breakfast before all of those visiting to get a filling meal before you leave.
