Made in America: Manufacturing, Private Hiring Power Explosive August Jobs Report

President Donald J. Trump’s agenda is working — and the latest jobs report proves it. Factories are hiring, construction is booming, wages are rising, and the private sector — not government — is driving the boom.


Here’s what you need to know:
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs: The U.S. economy added 162,000 jobs in August — nearly triple economists’ expectations (again) — for the second-largest monthly gain of President Trump’s second term.

Main Street Wins: More than one million private-sector jobs have been created in President Trump’s second term, while federal employment remains at its lowest share of the workforce on record.

Factory Comeback: After years of Biden-era decline, manufacturers added 16,000 jobs last month — the strongest monthly gain in three years — and 58,000 jobs this year, powered by huge demand for pharmaceutical and defense production, data center construction, and semiconductor plants.

Construction Boom: Construction added 22,000 jobs last month, with factory construction jobs up nearly 100,000 in President Trump’s second term as companies make products in America again.

Opportunity Rising: Labor force participation increased at its strongest level in almost a year last month. College graduate unemployment remains a rock-solid 2.7%, while black unemployment posted its second monthly decline.

Paychecks Climbing: Private-sector workers saw average weekly earnings rise last month — up 3.7% over the year.

“In his State of the County Address this evening, Suffolk Executive Ed Romaine laid out a clear vision for the County: protect taxpayers, keep our communities safe, strengthen our finances, invest in our future, continue improving the quality-of-life families by preserving more and more open space and protecting our drinking water. All of which makes Suffolk County such a special place to live, work and raise a family.

“And his message to Suffolk County taxpayers could not be clearer:

“NO INCREASE in the County’s General Fund property tax levy Next year. ZERO.

“Suffolk County has strengthened its financial position, earned multiple credit-rating upgrades, and built reserves exceeding $800 million — demonstrating that fiscal discipline, responsible budgeting, and effective government can, and should, go hand in hand, under the leadership of Ed Romaine.

A Back-to-School Message from the Suffolk County & Brookhaven Town Republican Committees

As a new school year begins, our streets and neighborhoods will once again be filled with children heading to school, waiting at bus stops, riding their bikes, and walking home at the end of the day.

On behalf of our Republican elected officials, Members of the Committee, and volunteers, we’re asking everyone to take a little extra time and use a little extra caution on the road.

🚸 Slow down in school zones.
🚌 Stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing.

THE CHOICE COULD NOT BE CLEARER: FREEDOM OR SOCIALISM.

Today, House Republicans stood together and voted to condemn socialism and reaffirm the constitutional principles that built the greatest nation on Earth.

192 House Democrats voted NO.

Think about that.

When given the opportunity to reject socialism and stand for the principles at the foundation of America — individual liberty, constitutional government, free enterprise and the right of citizens to determine their own future — nearly the entire House Democratic Caucus refused.

This isn’t the Democratic Party of JFK. The radical socialist wing is no longer standing outside their party demanding to be heard — it is increasingly driving their agenda.

Republicans believe America was built by free people, not government control; by opportunity, not dependency; by individual liberty, not socialist ideology.

Our parents and grandparents didn’t sacrifice, serve and build this country so America could surrender the principles that made it exceptional.

Republicans choose FREEDOM. Republicans choose the CONSTITUTION. Republicans choose AMERICA.

We recognize Women’s Equality Day and honor the generations of American women whose courage, leadership, and determination helped expand opportunity and strengthen our nation.

Here in Suffolk County, that history has deep local roots. Mary Stackpole of Riverhead was a leader in the local suffrage movement, and in 1917, Suffolk County voters supported women’s right to vote before the 19th Amendment was adopted nationally.

Additionally, Ida Bunce Sammis, a Suffolk County Republican from Cold Spring Harbor, was helping blaze the trail. A leader in the fight for women’s suffrage, Sammis founded the Suffolk County Political Equality League in 1911 to advance women’s right to vote. Then, in 1918, she ran proudly on the Republican ticket and made history—becoming one of the first two women ever elected to the New York State Legislature.

More than a century later, Suffolk Republicans can take pride in that legacy of opening doors, breaking barriers, and electing leaders who make history.

From the home to the workplace, from public service to community leadership, women continue to play an essential role in building strong families, strong communities, and a stronger America.

We are grateful for the women across Suffolk County who lead, serve, work, volunteer, and help shape a safer, more affordable future for our families.

REMEMBERING AN AMERICAN TREASURE — DOLLY PARTON

Today, the Suffolk County and Brookhaven Town Republican Committees join millions of Americans in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton—a true American original whose life embodied faith, patriotism, generosity, hard work, and the promise of the American Dream.

Born into poverty in Tennessee, Dolly never forgot her roots. Through talent, determination, and an extraordinary work ethic, she became one of America’s most influential singer-songwriters and entertainers.

But Dolly Parton was much more than a country music legend.

She was a proud American who honored our country and the men and women who serve it. Through her music and public service, she celebrated America, supported troops and veterans, and reminded us of the values that unite us.

She was also a pioneering businesswoman and entrepreneur. At a time when women faced significant barriers in entertainment and business, Dolly took control of her career, retained ownership of her work, built successful businesses, created jobs, and established an entertainment empire.

She did not wait for someone else to break the glass ceiling.

She broke through it herself—with talent, courage, perseverance, and hard work.

Dolly also gave generously to others. Through her extraordinary philanthropy, especially the Imagination Library, she helped place hundreds of millions of books in children’s hands around the world.

Dolly Parton’s story is an American story: humble beginnings, big dreams, hard work, entrepreneurship, generosity, and the belief that where you begin does not determine how far you can go.

Her music will live forever. Her businesses and philanthropy will continue changing lives. Her journey from a small cabin in the Smoky Mountains to becoming one of America’s most beloved cultural figures will inspire generations.

America has lost a national treasure, but Dolly Parton’s legacy will never fade.

May God bless Dolly Parton, comfort her family and loved ones, and continue to bless the country she loved so dearly.
