Traffic Advisory for Tufts Commencement Weekend
Dates Affected:
- Saturday, May 16
- Sunday, May 17
Expected Traffic Conditions:
- Increased Congestion: Heavy traffic is expected around the Medford/Somerville campus.
- Parking Limitations: On-campus parking will be limited. Attendees are encouraged to use public transportation or carpool when possible.
Campus Shuttle Routes for Sunday:
- Four shuttle routes will provide connecting service between parking areas and event locations on Commencement Day, 7 AM โ 7 PM.
- Shuttles should arrive approximately every 15 minutes. Note that traffic conditions on Commencement Day may delay shuttle services.
- Shuttle locations and status can be viewed live at the Tufts Shuttle Tracker.
Road Closures and Restrictions:
- Packard Avenue: Closed during main ceremony.
- Packard Avenue: One-way traffic from Professors Row to Capen Street Ext.
- Houston Lane: Closed to vehicle traffic.
- Miller Lane: Closed to vehicle traffic.
- Professors Row: One-way traffic from College Avenue to Packard Avenue.
- Latin Way: One-way traffic from Professors Row to Lower Campus Road.
- Talbot Avenue: One-way traffic from Packard Avenue to College Avenue.
- Lower Campus Road: One-way traffic from Latin Way Road to College Avenue.
Public Transportation Recommendations:
- MBTA Services: Check schedules on the MBTA website for additional information.
- Bus Routes: Expect delays on routes 80, 94, and 96.
Additional Information:
- Event Timing: The main ceremony is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM on Sunday. For Saturday, the start time is at 3:00 PM
- Shuttle Services: Complimentary shuttles will run from the Davis Square T Station to the campus.
