Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County

Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County Our Vision: Communities where children are safe, families are strong, and our child victims become children again.

Mission: Meeting the needs of our community w/a child-focused multidisciplinary approach to prevention, treatment, & prosecution of abuse. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Jackson County is a grass-roots, community organization which provides a home-like environment where child victims can disclose abuse to law enforcement and child protective workers in privacy and safety and can receive service

s in one child-friendly location. By redesigning the “system” with the special needs of children in mind, the Center reduces the trauma of abuse, and provides coordinated support services for child abuse victims to begin the healing process. Originally, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Jackson County was a project of the Jackson County Child Abuse Task Force, Inc. The Task Force was a group of professional and lay people concerned about the child abuse issues within the county. They formed a private, non-profit, tax exempt organization in 1977, and with the help of local businesses, many civic organizations, schools, churches and countless individuals, opened the Children’s Advocacy Center in 1991. The Center was expanded to its present location in the historic Reames building in April of 1995. Since then, two major expansions have allowed the Center to meet the growing needs of Jackson County. Today, program support is provided by individuals, corporations, small businesses, government agencies, and private foundations. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Jackson County is a charter member of the National Children’s Alliance.

We’re looking for a local cleaning service!

CACJC is accepting proposals from janitorial and cleaning providers to help keep our Medford campus clean, safe, and welcoming for the children and families we serve.

Because of the sensitive nature of the work that happens at CACJC, we’re looking for a reliable service provider who understands the importance of professionalism, confidentiality, and creating a comfortable environment for children and families.

Services include routine cleaning and sanitation of two buildings, with after-hours cleaning preferred.

Proposals are due June 15, 2026, and the contract is expected to begin July 1, 2026.

Interested or know someone who might be a good fit? Contact Tammi Pitzen to schedule a tour before the deadline.

What does it mean to care for kids?

It means showing up before a crisis through prevention education.
It means creating a safe place when a child needs help.
It means listening carefully, responding with compassion, and surrounding families with support.
It means reminding children they are not alone.

That is the heart of CACJC’s Caring for Kids Campaign. 💙

We are working toward a goal of raising $20,000 by June 30 to help support services for children and families in our community.

Because caring for kids is not just the work of one organization. It takes all of us.

Summer break is here! 🙌

Along with fun in the sun, summer also brings more playdates, sleepovers, camps, online time, and days spent with friends or relatives. A little extra communication can go a long way in helping kids stay safe.

Before your child spends time away from home, take a moment to:

☀️ Set clear rules and boundaries for staying at other people’s houses
☀️ Ask who they spent time with and what they did
☀️ Get contact information for the adult who will be supervising
☀️ Remind kids to only connect online with people they know personally
☀️ Check social media privacy and security settings

Most importantly, keep the conversation open. Let kids know they can come to you if something feels confusing, uncomfortable, or unsafe.

Prevention starts with trusted adults who ask questions, stay connected, and make safety part of everyday conversations. 💙
