The American Constitution is at its core a Libertarian document. Coming out of an 8 year war for independence from an absentee government in London, the founding fathers were very concerned with the individual and his/her interaction with government. But they realized that the Articles of Confederation were not managing such a large group of states. They rather grudgingly acknowledged the need of a federal system of some sort. If you read the Bill of Rights, it protects the individual from government overreach. However, human nature tends to promote power to the powerful. The powerful wealthy and elite need to be reminded that the USA is not an autocracy or an oligarchy. We are meant to ruled from the ground up not the top down. The two party political system currently in power is top down, divided between 2 warring factions and centered in Washington.
The Taylor County Libertarian Party is concerned with representing local citizens not national parties.

1. Individuals have individual perspectives that vary significantly with others.
2. This fact makes universally applied solutions difficult or impossible without open and honest dialog.
3. The function of government is find consensus on mandates that are universally applied. It is a vexing endeavor. But within their purview as a deliberative body.
4. As Abraham Lincoln said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand."
5. That said, there is always truth in opposing positions.
6. In a divisive debate is one side allowed to obliterate the opposing side?
7. Can that be called solution?

I have been working on how to craft a message for the 87th district of Wisconsin. I heard a podcast recently that was profound.
1. You have to truly respect the listener perspective. They have that right.
2. Don't use fear or anger. It doesn't work. If the listener gets bombarded from all sides they stop listening. I know I do.
3. Here is my thought on where to start for the campaign about fixing the 2 party system:
"It's Your Call"

As we cranky, independent minded citizens of the 87th Assembly district move to a political and economic position more focused on what is good for us rather than what is good for the Republican and Democrat duopoly all of which live downstate, we need to organize. On that note I have worked some more this 4th of July holiday on the website for this independent political movement. It is far from complete but the time is right in history for this movement toward independent local representation in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Many rural citizens feel disenfranchised and threatened. Those of use who live in rural northern Wisconsin see technology empowering urban centers resulting in the "Brain Drain" of our potential to compete from rural areas as young people seek better opportunity in large metropolitan areas. You

There is a cancer growing within our society. It is not the media. It is not politicians. It is not immigrants. It is not poor people. It is not rich people.
People, individually, are neither good nor bad. Kinda like me. I am a mixture of the two.
The existing 2 Party system is not human. It is a power structure that seeks to remain in power at the expense of the electorate.
Perhaps it is time for an effective 3rd party. One in the middle to counteract the other two and make them accountable.

Admittedly, I am a tech enthusiast. Part of the reason for that is that I am a realist rather than an idealist. I look at trends and other data before making any decision. I test that decision to see if it works or not. The reason behind my adoption of the Libertarian Party position is that I think the time is right for a move in this direction. The Libertarian view of
1. Mind Your OWN Business
2. Pay Your OWN Bills
3. DON'T Cheat.
This has resonance culturally today.

There is a valid place for morals. I have them. I assume anyone reading this has them. Probably not the same ones, I bet.
I have a Strong Opinion; Lightly Held that morals are for individuals. Logical reasoning is for group interactions like government.

Abductive reasoning is a form of logical inference formulated and advanced by American philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce beginning in the last third of the 19th century. It starts with an observation or set of observations and then seeks the simplest and most likely conclusion from the observations.

This was my first attempt at boosted political speech and I was concerned about how impolite speech has become in America today. I must say that it was not bad at all. The Libertarian view was only attacked once and strenuously disagreed with once. FYI, I am not a doorknob but I did check to make sure. The person who disagreed with the Libertarian perspective had valid points I respect. The attempt this page makes concerns individual tolerance which is a Libertarian view I admire. Tolerance comes from dialog with others. We will have to see how this comes together.
