Memorial Day is not just another holiday. Today and every day we honor the heroes who never made it home. We live free because of their sacrifice and we are forever grateful. 🇺🇸

The Medford Police Department has been receiving a growing number of citizen complaints regarding the operation of e-bikes (and similar devices) in a careless manner within the community.

As a result, you may see increased enforcement efforts moving forward to help ensure the safety of all residents, pedestrians, and riders.

We encourage parents and operators to familiarize themselves with applicable laws and to contact us with any questions regarding legal operation within the City.

We have received information of rental scams going on in our area and surrounding counties. The rentals are usually posted on Facebook Marketplace using photos of legitimate properties; however, they are posted by fake profiles.

Please see the tips in the photo to protect yourself from these scams. Also, DO NOT give out personal and sensitive information via Facebook, text, messenger or by completing an “application” if you have not personally viewed the apartment and confirmed you are working with the legitimate landlord. These scammers are not only looking to steal your money. They are also looking to steal your identity.

We've been monitoring the weather situation, like everyone and it appears as though we are in line for a dumping. It is currently looking that Medford could expect 24"-36" of snow Sunday through Monday.

With that we are asking residents to please avoid parking on City streets during the day to help aid with snow plowing/removal, this amount is going to require more effort to get removed and if the crew doesn't have to work around vehicles, they can get this taken care of sooner.

If it isn't absolutely necessary, we also ask that you avoid traveling if possible.

We understand that this type of snowfall isn't something we deal with regularly and we will be working as fast and safely as we can to ensure that roads are clear and safe for travel once safe to do so.

Medford Police Department would like to introduce you to their newest Officer to join the MPD team. Meet K9 BOONE. Boone is MPD’s first K9 and joined the team on November 10th, 2025. Boone’s handler, Chief Chad Liske, will work on his training to become a tracking/trailing K9 to assist in the search for missing/lost persons. You may see Boone out and about in the community as he works on his socialization. Feel free to say hello and offer some friendly pets if you see him. A special thanks goes out to Wrinkled Ridge Bloodhounds of Medford for providing us with Boone and getting MPD’s K9 Program off to a great start.
