Earlier today, Medford Police, alongside City Councilors Jessica Ayres, Garrett West, and John Quinn, unveiled a new K-9 Memorial, honoring the service, sacrifice, and legacy of the department’s police dogs. 🐾

Located in front of the Medford Police Station, the memorial replaces the vandalized tribute to K-9 Oxer, who served with handler Tony Young as part of Medford’s first police canine team. 💙

The memorial was made possible by the Council Community Initiative Fund. 👏

It’s that time of year again—our Public Works crew is back out painting the roadways! 🚧

Each spring and summer, the City refreshes more than 2.5 million linear feet of striping. 🛣️

💡 Fun fact: Ever notice how the paint seems to shimmer at night? That's thanks to tiny glass beads—made from recycled windshields—which are added to the wet paint to give it a reflective finish.

⚠️ Reminder: Please avoid driving through wet paint and keep a safe distance from the striper. We appreciate your cooperation!

A packed house tonight as family, friends, colleagues, and community members gathered to celebrate the swearing-in of Medford’s new Police Chief, Trevor Arnold.

Chief Arnold has dedicated 27 years to the Medford Police Department, serving in every rank after starting as a Community Service Officer in 1998. Tonight, he officially took the oath to lead the department into its next chapter.

Chief Arnold assumes leadership of the department as Chief Justin Ivens transitions into an advisor role through the end of the month ahead of his retirement.

Please join us in congratulating Chief Arnold on this well-deserved achievement and wishing him success in his new role. 🚓👏
