Congratulations to Firefighter Mike Murphy!

Medfield Fire Department proudly celebrates Firefighter Mike Murphy on achieving a major career milestone — becoming a licensed Paramedic in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

This accomplishment reflects Mike’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to providing the highest level of care to our community. The Paramedic role requires extensive training, advanced clinical knowledge, and the ability to perform under pressure — and Mike has risen to the challenge.

Yesterday marked the four-year anniversary of the passing of our brother, Captain Michael Harman.

Mike was more than just a firefighter — he was a leader, mentor, and friend to all who had the honor of working beside him. With over 18 years of dedicated service to the Medfield Fire Department, he left an indelible mark on this department and community.

He led with quiet strength, served with unwavering commitment, and always put others before himself. His legacy continues to live on in the way we do the job, in the stories we share, and in the values we uphold.

We miss you every day, Mike. You will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Captain. We’ve got it from here.

We would like to congratulate Lucy Nihghtingale on earning the Captain Michael Harman Memorial Scholarship for 2024. Lucy is a two time graduate of the Medfield Fire Cadet program. She will be attending Northern Michigan University for mechanical engineering and is interested in obtaining her EMT while she is there. We wish her the best of luck.
