We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Life member Jay Russell. In his over 45 years of service he served in many roles including Rescue Captain, Chief, and Company President which he held currently. He was also a driving force behind many fundraisers over the years.

Our condolences go out to Jays friends and family, many of whom are also involved in the volunteer fire service.

Once we have details regarding services we will pass them along here.

At Approximately 5:55pm Mecklenburg was dispatched to a reported brush fire on Updyke Rd. Upon arrival the fire was mostly out and our crews started putting out the small “hot spots”. Thank you Trumansburg Volunteer Fire Company and Burdett Fire Department for responding as our mutual aid. All units are clear and back in service
