All St. Mary’s County Public Schools will have a delayed opening of two hours on Friday, December 5, 2025, with a Code 5 for employees.

Ten and eleven-month employees report to work two hours late. Twelve-month employees and food service workers are to report to work on time. Liberal leave is in effect.

The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center (RACSTC) presents the EMS Broadcast "Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy 101" on Monday, December 1, 2025. The Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department and Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be bringing Santa Claus into your Neighborhood through the dates of December 3 to December 18. Santa will be riding on a big red firetruck sleigh! An Ambulance will occasionally lead, playing Christmas songs on their PA system.

Santa Runs will begin between 5:30 - 6:30 PM and may last up until 9:00 PM. We ask that if you live in a small court or cul-de-sac, please come to the road that intersects your street when you hear music and sirens.
