This morning, our President, Ken Ritter, and Board Member, Casey Lemoi, had the pleasure of joining St. Mary’s County Department of Public Works Director John Norris III at today’s County Commissioners meeting.

We were excited to see the County Commissioners recognize St. Mary’s County athletes who competed in basketball and track and field at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, as well as proclaim August 26th as Women’s Equality Day throughout St. Mary’s County.

Christmas in April St. Mary’s County attended today’s meeting to request refuse passes to support our continued repair work throughout the county. These passes help our volunteers properly dispose of materials and debris on work days as we contuine to work to repair homes and improve the quality of life for our neighbors in need.

We greatly appreciate Commissioner Eric Colvin and all of the County Commissioners for their continued support of our mission and the work we do throughout St. Mary’s County.

We love seeing organizations like the Home Builders Care Foundation continue to make such a meaningful impact in our community. Congratulations to Jim Schaefer on joining the board. Your support of Christmas in April St. Mary's County, Inc. will go a long way in helping local homeowners in need!

A recent contribution through the Home Builders Care Foundation, Inc. is benefiting residents in St. Mary’s County.

Since 2000, HBCF has funded home repair programs across the Maryland Building Industry Association jurisdictions, assisting seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

Jim Schaefer, CEO of Schaefer Homes, has joined the HBCF board and is proud to be part of this work, beginning with a contribution to Christmas in April St. Mary's County, Inc. in Leonardtown and supporting local homeowners in need.
