Back to School season is great time to remind everyone about the Friends of Mechanicsville Library Barbara Pitts Memorial Scholarship! $1000.00 is awarded each year to a graduating senior at Mechanicsville High School. Eligible students apply by submitting an essay about how the library impacted their academic journey. We wish our Class of 2026 winner, Ava Serrano, a great school year and we thank our donors-you know who you are-for contributing to this award.

We join the rest of you in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton, an absolute entertainment legend and tireless supporter of literacy for over 31 years. Many thanks to our partners, Virginia Early Learning Partners and Hanover Rotary Club for making this invaluable resource available to children in our area.
