East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad

East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad We welcome new members! If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our web-page, EHVRS.ORG East Hanover VRS was founded on July 4, 1969.

The rescue squad rotates several day duty crews and six nightly duty crews for "every day of the year" coverage. Our Senior, Junior, Auxiliary, and Life Members are currently approaching 150 members, but with the fantastic growth now being experienced by the East Hanover Community and Hanover County overall, more volunteers are needed. Our bond with the Hanover Fire/EMS Department is strong as the county runs a combination system of volunteers and paid staff.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our sister rescue squad and the Bomgardner family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our sister rescue squad and the Bomgardner family.

It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our Lieutenant and Life Member Roger Bomgardner. Roger was a father, husband, son, nurse, paramedic and a great friend. Please keep Roger’s wife and kids in your prayers while they grieve. Roger, you may been gone but you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend!

Tonight, our board had the opportunity to honor a great community partner, Anna's Italian Restaurant during our final meeting. Next month we elect a new board. Anna’s has supported us by feeding our crews, sponsoring events and training, and, more importantly, valued friendships. Thank you for your decades of support.

We had our annual banquet tonight. We were able to recognize service years, life members and squad person of the year. We had great food and environment at Hanover Tavern and several rounds of bingo!
Tonight’s service awards ranged from 5 years to 40 years! We selected three new life members and recognized Jay as the Squad Person of the Year.
