Apparently the fastest way to get junior firefighters to pay attention is to lift them off the bay floor and remind them that gravity is undefeated…unless you have good rope work and solid mechanical advantage.

Great night of hands-on training building mechanical advantage systems and reinforcing the fundamentals of safe, efficient rescue operations. Proud of this group for leaning into the learning (and the harnesses) as they continue to sharpen their skills and confidence. The future of the fire service is rising. Literally.

🔥 Junior Firefighter Update! 🔥

Last night’s training was all about building critical survival skills. Our juniors practiced using thermal imaging cameras to locate heat behind walls and learned how to safely force through walls for self-rescue. These are advanced skills that build confidence and readiness for real-world scenarios!

We’re also incredibly proud to celebrate two of our former Junior Firefighters who have officially graduated from the Alamance Community College Fire & Rescue Training Academy! Their hard work and dedication are inspiring examples for our current juniors, proving that the lessons learned here truly prepare you for the next step in your fire service journey.

Keep pushing, learning, and growing. The future of the fire service is bright! 🔥👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

Today is a proud day for the Mebane Fire Department Junior Firefighters and Mebane NC Fire Department family! 🚒🔥

One of our own, Andrew, a former Mebane Junior Firefighter & current volunteer, has officially graduated from recruit school and joined the ranks of the Chapel Hill Fire Department! Even better, he now serves alongside three other former Mebane juniors already protecting the Chapel Hill community.

It is an honor to watch our young members grow in and out of the junior program and see them live out their dreams as professional firefighters. We couldn’t be more proud!

Congratulations, Andrew, and welcome to the brotherhood/sisterhood of the fire service. We know you’ll make us proud every shift!

🔥 Huge congratulations to our three graduating seniors from the Mebane Fire Department Junior Firefighters Program! 🔥

We had a great time celebrating their hard work and dedication at our recent cookout along with members of the Mebane NC Fire Department at Station 2. These young leaders have shown exceptional commitment, teamwork, and heart—and we’re proud to have been part of their journey.

Wishing them success and safety as they move forward. Once a part of the fire service family, always a part of the fire service family. 🧑‍🚒🚒

Big shoutout to our Mebane Junior Firefighters for putting in the work during training tonight on the Mebane Recreation and Parks Department new Greenway!

This hands-on session focused on emergency response scenarios in outdoor environments, giving our future first responders real-world experience in navigation, communication, and team coordination. The Greenway offers a perfect setting to prepare for calls in parks, trails, and hard-to-access areas.

With spring in full swing and more residents enjoying the outdoors, Mebane NC Fire Department firefighters may be called to respond along the Greenway more often—so this training is both timely and essential.

Special thanks C Shift’s Lt. Roach and FF Lee for the use of ATV-2! And we even had a surprise visit from Retired FF Blaylock while he and his wife enjoyed the trail!

We’re proud of these young leaders and their commitment to keeping our community safe—now and in the future!

Last night, Mebane Fire Department Junior Firefighters took advantage of acquired structure training!

Juniors learned how a proper scene size up and 360 walk-around can be beneficial when conducting fire attack and primary search for victims. After conducting a 360 walk around of the building and talking through what possible layouts of the floor plan may be, Juniors used intel gained to conduct a blindfolded search and quickly located two victims based on reports provided in the scenario.

Special thanks Mebane NC Fire Departmentartment for use of the structures for this training and planned live burns!
