📍 Cameron Lane Thoroughfare Plan Public Meeting

The City of Mebane is updating the Cameron Lane Thoroughfare Plan, originally approved by the Mebane City Council in 2014, and residents are invited to share their input.

Join staff from the Mebane Planning Department and City Engineer’s Office on Thursday, September 17, for a drop-in public meeting at the Mebane Arts & Community Center from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to stop by, learn more about the plan update, and provide feedback.

🏆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻!

Mayor Pro Tem Tim Bradley recently recognized Carl Martin of the City of Mebane Permits and Inspections Department for receiving the Distinguished Service Award from the North Carolina Building Inspectors’ Association.

The award recognizes Carl’s exceptional service to NCBIA and its members. With more than 20 years of experience in code enforcement, Carl has helped advance inspector education through course development, instruction, committee service, and leadership within the Association.

His work has also contributed to NCBIA receiving the International Code Council’s 2026 Educator of the Year recognition.

Carl has served on the NCBIA Board of Directors and several code development committees and has received numerous honors throughout his career, including the Association’s highest honor, the Edison Hubert Johnson Award.

Congratulations to Carl on this well-deserved recognition!

🇺🇸 Patriot Day: September 11

Today, the City of Mebane joins communities across the nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the victims, their families, the first responders, and all those whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day.

May we continue to remember the courage, service, sacrifice, and unity shown in the days that followed.

On Friday, September 4, the Alamance County Economic Development Foundation and Alamance Chamber celebrated eight local businesses awarded a combined $75,000 through the 2026 Small Business Grant Program!

This year’s recipients are:

Now in its fourth year, the program has invested $290,000 in 36 Alamance County businesses, helping local entrepreneurs launch, grow, and expand.

Small businesses play an important role in strengthening our local economy, creating jobs, encouraging innovation, and contributing to the quality of life across Alamance County.

𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: Crews are making great progress on the turf replacement for Field #1 at the Mebane Community Park! The project remains on track, with the field expected to reopen for use later this month.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while the field has been closed for repairs. This work will help ensure the field remains in great shape for years to come!
