Crawford County CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates We train and provide quality volunteer advocates for children involved in juvenile court proceedings.

Every day in this country, children experience abuse or neglect, and deserve to have someone speaking on on their behalf. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a network of community-based programs that recruit, train and support volunteers to advocate for the best interests of the children. Advocates are empowered directly by the courts and offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being met and are given a detailed picture of that child's life. More than ever, our children are experiencing increased anxiety, grief and feeling isolated. Children who find themselves involved in the child welfare system through no fault of their own need someone to speak up for them when they are not able to, a CASA volunteer is that someone. Volunteers stay with children until they have reached permanency whether that is returned safely home, adopted or residing with kinship. For many children, a CASA volunteer is the one constant adult presence in their lives.

What’s next for us here at Crawford County CASA! We are thankful for our friends at Kiwanis of Conneaut Lake ! They invited us for the 2 nd year to participate in the Tiki Bar Fundraiser with them . Scan the bar code in the flier for a chance to win the $200 scratch off tickets lottery tree . You don’t need to be present to win ! Can’t wait to see you there !

What does your donation get for us here at CASA ? It assist us with the recruiting and training of new CASA volunteers . Last year we were able to train 6 new CASAs from the gifts we received from Crawford Gives .

Summer Spotlight with Ashley!

“This summer I have been working at Crawford County District Attorneys office. I get to sit-in and observe court as well as work directly with the attorneys on case files. I am very thankful for this opportunity because the hands on learning experience is unlike anything I would have ever been able to learn on my own. It has opened up more legal opportunities for me in law school.”
