Congrats to Mead High School boys track and field on winning the state team title! Down six point headed into the final event, the MHS 4x400 placed second in the event to clinch the team state championship!

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for our country.

It's one of those special days of the school year: DLC FIELD DAY!

Our Developmental Learning Center students took over the Union Stadium turf for a morning of games and activities to celebrate the year! It was a fantastic day playing with the giant parachute, competing in relay races and bean bag toss, shooting baskets and hitting whiffle balls...And it was complete with a flyover from the Spokane County Sheriff's Office helicopter!

Special thank you to all the leaders, volunteers, sponsors and local first responders that came out to support!

🏆 Skyline, Prairie View, Farwell and Mt. Spokane Honored By ! 🏆

The Washington Board of Education annually recognizes schools for their work in three categories: closing gaps, growth and achievement. Only 16% of schools statewide earned the recognition and four are in the Mead School District! In total, 379 public schools in 150 school districts across Washington were recognized in 2026.

Let's celebrate our kitchen staff on this School Lunch Hero Day!

Nationally, the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs provide 4.9 billion lunches and 2.6 billion breakfasts served to 30 million students each year, making them the largest food provider in the country!

School lunch is critical to student health and well-being, and ensures that students have the nutrition they need throughout the day to learn. Research shows that school meals are the most nutritious meals that American children receive. Children who consume school meals have higher intakes of milk, fruits, and vegetables, and lower intakes of snacks and desserts, compared to non-participants.

Thank you to all the School Lunch Heroes in the Mead School District who are making a positive impact in our communities on a daily basis!
