Today we are a wildlife rescue and education center, as well as a state licensed training facility for vocational wildlife care. Cat Tales is a Big Cat and Wildlife Rescue Sanctuary. Our animal population is based on current rescues and forever home needs. We do charge an admission fee as that is our main support for funding of food for the animals. Adults $15 ----- Seniors 65+ & Students (13-18,

22 w/ valid student ID) $12——-Children (ages 5-12) $10——under 5 yrs old FREEThe Big Cats are the most active during cool weather and just prior to feeding time which is at about 3:00 pm.For an up-close and safe experience, anytime during the day, you can Hand Feed a Big Cat or Black Bear. (Fee and age restrictions apply.)Be sure to enjoy our "Cats of the World" Museum and Nature Gift Shop.Our Volunteers and Zookeeper Staff are available to answer your questions and tell you more about the animals during your visit.

Sometimes we’re reminded that life is short, so appreciate every moment. Grae’s sudden passing just before feeding time a couple of weeks ago was a reminder of that.

We held off on posting until we received her necropsy results, which determined an arrhythmia as the cause of death for an otherwise very healthy 11-year-old wolfdog.

To our guests who were here that day, we’re sorry you had to experience her loss with us, and we thank you for the grace you showed our team as they managed the situation with poise and professionalism.

If you’ve been to our park in the last few weeks, you’ve probably noticed two of our large enclosures sitting empty. We’re hoping to have them filled by spring, but first, we want to make a few upgrades to get these spaces looking and feeling as good as new.

As the upgrades wrap up, we’ll start looking for animals in need of a new home that could be a good fit for these spaces. Every animal we take in has lived in captivity and, for one reason or another, cannot be returned to the wild.

Until then, we want to hear from you! What future resident are you hoping to see call one of these enclosures home?

I think you’d call this a reverse mohawk? 🤔

Pretty soon, all of their white will be gone, they’ll look half their current size, and they’ll be completely grey, helping them blend right in with the gravel.

We make plans, prepare, and train for natural disasters and other events that could require an evacuation, but moving all of our residents would be no small feat. A small, crate-trained fox is one thing, but safely relocating a 550-pound tiger is a whole different challenge.

We’re incredibly grateful that we didn’t have to evacuate during the recent fires and that our animals were only minimally affected by the smoke.
