Clerk Hinton certified the May 19, 2026 Primary Election to the Oregon Secretary of State on June 11th and official results have been posted. Final voter turnout reached 49.04% with 38,031 ballots cast. This is the highest turnout in a Primary Election in Yamhill County since before 2018. Thank you, Yamhill County voters, for participating in this election. Strong voter turnout reflects the strength of our community and our shared commitment to democracy. Every vote matters!

The Secretary of State has issued a directive to each county in Oregon to conduct an Administrative Hand Count of a sample of ballots to meet the requirements for post-election audits. A public notice has been issued to announce the Administrative Hand Count in accordance with ORS 254.529 to be conducted on Monday, June 15, 2026, starting at 9:00 a.m. Please read the notice for specific details:

What is an overvote or an undervote? An overvote is when a voter casts more votes for a contest than is allowed. An undervote is when a voter chooses not to vote for that contest and leaves it blank.

Yamhill County offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

Thank you Clerk Hinton, for launching the new Election Ballot Return Dashboard for the May 19, 2026 Primary Election. Our office has received a tremendous amount of positive feedback for launching this informative tool that provides real-time data. If you would like to continue to stay up-to-date on post election activity please visit the dashboard here: https://yamhillcounty.gov/1547/Election-Dashboard The dashboard will continue to be updated as viable postmarked ballots are processed through May 26th and ballots are cured through June 9th.
Reminder if you received correspondence in the mail that looks like the picture below we need your response! All challenged signatures and ballots that were not signed have been sent correspondence to notify the voter we need you to resolve "cure" your signature. Please respond by June 9th at 5:00 p.m. in order for your ballot to be counted!

It's not too late to vote the office is open until 8:00 p.m. We are ready and waiting to answer questions and make sure your vote gets counted! Don't forget to sign your ballot envelope! Our ballot drop box sites are available for you to drop off your ballot until 8:00 p.m. tonight.
