This October for DV Awareness Month 💜, the message is clear: we must stand by turning awareness into action.

For over four decades, Henderson House has empowered survivors in Yamhill County by offering a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, confidential advocacy, and support groups. But, providing life-saving care and resources takes an entire community showing up.

You can turn awareness into action on Saturday, Oct. 3rd! 👑

Join us at Gallery Theater in McMinnville for our 3rd annual Crown of Yamhill County fundraiser! It’s an unforgettable night of entertainment and community solidarity as local leaders compete for the crown, all to support services that empower survivors to break cycles of abuse.

The Henderson House team lit candles of remembrance on our Advocacy Center mantle, next to a photo of our founder, Mary Henderson, honoring Stella Kimsey, Mary Kimsey, Rowan Kimsey, Linsey Haraldsen, and Alvin Chu.

We are a small but mighty team of confidential advocates who safety-plan, support, listen to, and believe survivors like Stella with care and compassion, 24/7. We are utterly heartbroken for the families, community, survivors, and helpers impacted by their murders.

Please remember, you are not alone. Help is available 24/7 via our crisis line at 503-572-1503.

Domestic violence is an epidemic that can lead to devastating tragedies like this on any given day. Mothers, family members, and friends supporting a loved one should never lose their lives doing so. We must do better for survivors and their loved ones by prioritizing prevention, response, and access to support today.

The Henderson House Advocacy Center will be closed at 12pm on Wednesday, August 26th and will re-open on Thursday, August 27th at 9am. Our advocates can still be reached via our 24-hour crisis phone line.

👑 Crown of Yamhill County 2025 Winner Amanda Farmer absolutely ✨sparkled✨ as she represented Henderson House today in the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival Parade!

Our crew was beyond moved by all of the cheers and applause for Henderson House (including multiple shouts of, "You guys saved my life!"). What a way to spend a Saturday morning!
