The purpose of this social media page is for the McLouth Police Department to share news and information regarding the activities, policies and programs of the Department and its employees. Your insights are important.

Before posting a comment, please note the McLouth Police Department will review all comments after posting. Due to the fact this page is public
and possibly visible to persons of all ages, we expect participants to show respect, civility and consideration to visitors. Therefore, comments will be removed if they:
- Contain defamatory personal attacks and/or threats against any member of the public and/or an employee of the Department or organization.
- Promote or advertise services or products.
- Contain abusive, profane or vulgar language.
- Contain sexual content, pornographic, overly graphic, disturbing, obscene or offensive material, and/or material that would otherwise violate the law if published on this site.
- Include offensive language targeting specific ethnic, religious, or racial groups.
- Comments not related to the original topic, including random or unintelligible comments.
- Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, or national origin.
- Comments in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaign or ballot measures.
- Solicitation of commerce, including but not limited to advertising of any business or product for sale or Department non sanction non-profit.
- Posts and/or comments that contain any external/Department non-sanctioned external links.
- Any type of conduct in violation of any federal, state or local laws.
- Comments which encourage illegal or violent activity.
- Information that might compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems.
- Harassing content which may constitute and/or facilitate stalking.
- Content which violates the right to privacy.
- Comments which may reasonably interfere with, inhibit, or compromise law enforcement investigations, law enforcement tactics, including but not limited to, law enforcement responses to incidents and/or the safety of law enforcement personnel and/or peace officers.
- Repetitive content that violates the Department’s Facebook Content Policy. Employees of the Police Department will not edit public comments to remove objectionable or inappropriate content, so please ensure that comments comply with this policy if you would like it posted. The McLouth Police Department recognizes that social media tools are available 24 hours a day, and we welcome comments at any time. However, given the need to manage resources, the moderation and posting of comments will occur during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Central Standard Time, or when possible. Comments submitted after hours or on weekends or holidays will be read and posted as soon as possible if they meet the aforementioned criteria; in most cases, this will mean the next business day
