Last night at the City of McLoud's monthly City Council meeting Interim Police Chief Pinette, had the honor of recognizing the following officers for:
Sgt. Chris Bacon- Lifesaving
Ofc. Drake Richardson- Lifesaving
Ofc. Marshall Jones- Chiefs' accommodation for his dedication to the MCPD Fleet

Lieutenant Dakota Black, with the Pottawatomie County Sheriffs office, presented the Distinguished Service Award to Sgt. Corey Martin and Officer Marshall Jones during the McLoud City Council Meeting last night.
These two officers were recognized for their exceptional professionalism, compassion, and dedication to duty during a tragic incident that occurred in Pottawatomie County on April 27, 2026. Both officers demonstrated remarkable composure, empathy, and support for those affected while working alongside members of the Sheriff’s Office.
Their actions showed the highest standards of law enforcement service and reflected great credit upon themselves, the McLoud Police Department, and the profession as a whole.

Seat belts are the best defense against impaired, aggressive, and distracted drivers. Keep you and your passengers safe by making seatbelts a requirement for all vehicle occupants-every time.
