Talarico for Texas Love Thy Neighbor Grocery Drive is happening right now across Texas, including right here in Collin County, Ken Paxton's "backyard". Spread the word that donations can be delivered to the Collin County Democratic Party Headquarters at 6829 K Avenue, suite 111, Plano today until 1:15pm and tomorrow Monday September 7th 2:15pm - 6:15pm. Office hours are 12-2 today and 10-2 on Monday, so feel free to stop by and drop of donations during any of those times.

Tonight, the City Council is meeting and we all know the shadow of the August 4th meeting still looms. Our Mayor and Council members are still under attack simply for following the law and approving a site plan that met city code.

We cannot let tonight devolve into the same ugly, hostile circus we saw last month. Our council members deserve to do their jobs without fear, intimidation, or personal attacks. The silent majority needs to be seen and heard!

If you support rule of law, civil discourse, and our duly elected officials, and are able, please fill those chambers. Let’s show them that McKinney stands for respect, procedure, and community, not a circus that creates chaos for clicks.

🕔 When: Meeting starts at 6:00 PM. Arrive by 5:00 PM to guarantee a seat!
🗣️ Can't speak? That's okay! Your physical presence in that seat matters just as much.

This is what community looks like. ❤️

Even with the Texas heat beating down on Sunday, the McKinney Area Democrats showed up to care for Fitzhugh Park as part of our Adopt a Spot McKinney commitment. We worked as a team and bagged over 25lbs of trash!

The best moment of the day? A couple of neighborhood boys saw what we were doing, walked over, and asked if they could join in. No politics, no agenda, just neighbors wanting to help keep their park beautiful. That’s the spirit we love to see.

Mark your calendars! Our next clean-up is scheduled for October 18th. The day before early voting begins we’ll be sprucing up the park again. It will be a celebration of all the hard work we accomplished to get out the vote and provide the neighborhood with slate cards and make sure they have a vote plan. The weather should be much more amenable by then, and we’d love for you to join us!

What an incredible August Happy Hour! We can feel the shift happening right under our feet!

Third Friday happy hour was a powerful reminder of the depth of talent, courage, and determination we have right here in Texas. The room was packed with energy and purpose, and we were honored to hear from some of the best candidates running to change our state.

🔹 TXHD Representative Christina Morales, Chair of the House Democratic Campaign Committee, got us fired up and gave us hope that we can flip the Texas House, and what we can achieve when we do. She did highlight the weight of this election and how important it is that we all work together to get our candidates over the line.

🔹 McKinney Councilwoman Dr. Geré Feltus and Councilman Justin Beller joined us to discuss the importance of defending our community. They are standing strong against the bogus recall election petition targeting four council members, including both of them and one other councilman and also the mayor. They are being attacked for lawfully voting to approve the site plan for the new Mosque that the McKinney Islamic association met all the zoning requirements for.

🔹Jason Pearce, running for CD-4, shared his vision for his race and why TX-04 is ready for new leadership. Jason is extremely passionate and compassionate and has a wonderful platform he’s running on, focusing on bringing humanity back and getting rid of the corruption in Washington DC. He’ll be a great addition to the US House.

🔹 Evan Hunt, running for CD-3, inspired us all by contrasting his vision against the status quo. He spoke passionately about representing the district differently, ending the hateful divisiveness and the dangerous hate speech that has no place in our politics and community.

🔹 And in the best surprise of the night, Holly Taylor for Judge TX Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 9 popped in! She brought the house down and got the room amped about the sheer number of fantastic judicial races on our ballot. She emphasized the historic number of incredible women we are going to elect to these critical positions in November.

This is what a winning movement looks like. Let’s keep this momentum going! 🗳️✨

There is a recall petition attempting to oust 4 Council members solely over the approval of a Mosque site. This is a misuse of the recall process and an attack on our Muslim neighbors.

Let’s show up in full force to support our leaders for doing their jobs fairly and justly. Can't speak? Just being there in support makes a massive difference.

TONIGHT, August 18th. Meeting starts at 6 but if you can arrive before 5 to get a seat and give our council friendly faces instead of the angry mob that accosted them last time.

Be the voice of reason. Let's stand against bigotry and for unity. 🕊️
