Unfortunately most of the categories we participated in didn't receive any awards.

But we officially put McKeesport back on the map with one of our very own winning two solo competitions. Shammah Lapaix, Captains Lapaix's son, won 1st place in brass level 1 and 2nd place in piano level 1.

All of the kids did such a great job and we are so very proud of them. The fact that there were only two trophies doesn't cancel out the fact that these kids worked so hard and all did a beyond extraordinary job.

Next year we are going for the gold!!

Tonight's Star Search Award Ceremony and Soldier Enrollment!! Pray for all our kids. They did an amazing job and we hope they all won but in our eyes they are still #1.

Attention everyone,
We won't be meeting in person next Sunday as we have a big group going to Hershey, PA for the General's Congress. We have many children competing at this event as well. Please be in prayer for all of us for a blessed weekend and hopefully we bring back some trophies.

Friends, this is how a community comes together and shows support. During our building issues back a few months ago, we lost around $1500 worth of books due to water damage. Captain Sarah began reaching out to local businesses, service clubs and churches to see how this loss could be recouped and everyone be showed up in such a beautiful way. These pictures are only the beginning of this project. A special thanks to the Carnegie Library of McKeesport - White Oak Branch for a box full of books as well as Half Price Books Monroeville for the gracious donation of 10 boxes of books. Our local Women's Auxiliary made a monetary donation as well. There will be much more to come and we will keep posting to share our gratitude for all the support.

Our ladies group is hosting a fundraiser with press on nails. Each set is only $2. Deals can be made for buying in bulk. All proceeds go towards The Salvation Army McKeesport Corps and its ministry in Mckeesport and its surrounding areas.
